Bad supplier and ver irregular business!
« on: August 17, 2005, 02:06:33 PM »
I don't normally do this, but I am going to list the name and address of the worst military firearms supplier I have run across since 1968!

Military Gun Supply, Inc.
3815 East Loop 820 South
Fort Worth, Texas 76119
Phone 817-457-6000
Fax 817-457-6007
Website: www.militarygunsupply.com

I sent them a signed copy of my FFL, a company check for the full amount of two NEW AK-47's, and all the other paperwork they required.

4 days later my check cleared my bank, but they informed me that they hold "personal" checks for 2 weeks.

Two weeks passed and they had no record of my order.

I sent several emails to them, and made a couple of phone calls.  My emails were ignored, and my phone calls were answered with, "We do not notify dealers of the name of the carrier and we NEVER release a tracking number"!

They finally responded three days ago with a message that the firearms I ordered were in Billings and would be delivered "the next day".  Well, three days have passed, and FedEx, USPS and UPS have no idea where my firearms are, and they have no record of anything being shipped to me from the above listed address.

This is one company that I would strongly suggest that EVERYONE stay totally away from.

give them a few more days and send them a registered letter with a copy of the cleared check and request the firearms or your money back.

they will not be able to say they never got your letter and it will serve for legeal ground work if it cames to that

They cannot be any worse than:

Hunters Lodge Corporation Waterfork Road Industrial Plaza Ethridge, Tenn 38456 Ph(615) 766-0755 Fax (615) 762-6881 Accessory Suppliers/Sutlers

These folks are crooks of the worst kind they sell you a milsurp and then tell you they will not accept it back unless you send their shipping tag back with the gun problem is they never send you the shipping tag even after countless phone calls. I ordered a 1916 Spanish Mauser from them that was junk not even a good parts gun. I gave it to a friend for parts and I lost the total cost of the gun and shipping plus the cost of the phone calls I made. Since then I have heard others tell of being ripped off by this jerks. This would be a other one to stay away from and ricciardelli you do the folks a service here when you post such info so no one else gets stung. Sounds like your getting stung more than I did as cost wise but any amount is enough to tick a person off.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I ordered 3 guns from military gun supply a while back and they weren't as advertised so there not very good to deal with back then.  Since then they have new owners and it still doesn't sound good either.  Now with Hunters Lodge I wouldn't deal with them either these are the worst place on the planet!!!!!  They sure sold a lot of tomato stake mexican mausers!!!!!  They sucked a lot of guys in on those rusted pieces of crap.
They almost got me too but there was plenty of bad posts about them before i ordered.   Buyer beware for sure stick to our list of dealers we had here.  Hunters Lodge also charges $40 for shipping too. Such a deal??

The good folks at ATF are always a place to turn to when needing help with questionable practises of FFLs....usually if they are bad in one aspect of the business, they are usually bad in other...others that the ATF may want to scrutinize....

good luck, hope you get your guns or money soon!

Okay...they arrived.

MGS is not totally at fault here. They did tell me that the rifles were shipping on the 8th, but the UPS shows differently.

In addition, UPS managed to screw-up the delivery. They sent them to the wrong place!

 ricciardelli, I have made several purchases from them both at the Dallas Gun Show and at their place of business.  They have always been honest about their guns and quoted me fair prices.

I make it a point to always get a bank or postal money order for firearms purchase by mail.  It may add two or three days before it is shipped, but there is never any question about payment, and I don't have to worry about a crook getting my credit card number.  Just food for thought.....

Well geee wiz! Nice to know that all our "BS" as you put it so eloquently in your last email wasn't all "BS".  Also, thanks again for all the "kind" posts, angry emails & threats from your board members email etc.. that have emailed us for nothing and telling us that they will never purchase any item from our "crappy" store, or that they well make sure that our business gets shut down etc, due to your post. Please be sure to also post on there that ALL of your (censored word) wad bord members can keep their business and make sure the hold true to their promises of never shoping at our store. But any way, thanks for the email. MGS.

And my reply was:

Well, you see, it is like this...

I apologized and also advised those who "cared enough to send their very best" that the error was not totally on your part.

However, this entire situation would have been avoided if YOU had done three simple acts:

1) Shipped on the 8th as you told me you had;
2) Given me the name of the carrier and the tracking number, so that I could have seen that UPS had screwed-up;
3) Answered my emails.

As I have stated in a previous email, I have been dealing in firearms since 1968, and I have never had a jobber/distributor/wholesaler refuse to give me the shipping information.

You might be interested to know that I ordered firearms from two other companies, one order on the 12th and another on the 15th.  Both orders arrived on the 18th, and I was able to track them easily because these companies do supply the requested infromation.

MY standard operation is to send an email with my intent to order, and then send a check and a file copy of my FFL the same day, after they give me the total price of the order.

THEIR standard operation is to notify me via email or telephone they received the check and the order, and give me the name of the carrier, the tracking number and any other pertenent information.

NONE ever take 30 days from the time of my notice of intent to purchase until I receive the items ordered.

You might be interested in knowing that I am not the only person who has had difficulty with your company...

8) Sales.  sales@militarygunsupply.com.  In my post above I remained neutral and pointed out the fact that I have experienced good service from you in the past.  However, after reading you message to ricciardelli I have had a change of heart.  You have got the last dollar from me, there are too many decent dealers out there that treat their customers with respect that would be glad to have my business.  In the future, they will get it.

Having owned and managed several retail sales outlets I am aware of how a customer should be treated, you do not measure up. Have you ever heard of customer service?  As a business, when you have problems like the one you had with ricciardelli you suck it up and do what ever you can to please the customer, at least, that is what a wise and experienced dealer would do. they would admit their part in the confusion and failure to deliver the goods.  Not you, you take an eye poking position that you don't care about this, or any other customers that post on this site.

Thanks for the past service, I assure there will be no more from me.  And for the eye poking, let me tell you what to poke...........
