I use them all, but prefer my victor #3dls's for coyotes, modified 1 3/4 and 2's for fox, duke or victor. Worm

Howdy Ya'll,

As the summer winds down and I start to think about the trapline,    knife shop, and hunting with Sandymay, my new hound,
The wood job and other outside activities, traps are creeping back into my consciousness.

For yotes,  like old Worm,  I like #3  l/s  o/s 's
It is muddy here in north central Texas and the long springs                  are more practical when ones hands and feet are covered  slippery mud.
Victor and the Northwoods are great.

For Cat the money hide, I need to get more 1  3/4 's  and 2's as the         1 1/2's , even 2 of them...
are not strong enough for a big cat.

For coon, 1  1/2 's are fine,                                                              I hate Dukes,                                                                                       Victor,  Northwoods and a few Blake and Lambs.
167 or some such number I gotta count them again this year.

Good luck Ya'll

I like longsprings, too. I have a ton of coils in various sizes and I use all of them also, but prefer those double longs from my #4s all the way down to those #11s.

For canines I use an OS Bridger #2 with IS lams and baseplated. 2-coils.
For dry land coon I like a 1.5 Sleepy, short chained.
For my water line I like my Victor 1 1/2 LS's (mink, rats and coon on drowners)
For my otter and beaver I use almost all Belsile 330's.

I like the longsprings for holding power and long lasting durability. I've used some for 40 years and their still holding well. When the springs begin to get too weak, one can simply insert an inner spring inside the long springs.  Coils and jump traps both are easier and more compact to transport in numbers and also easier to bed in rough, rocky or rooted ground. I always like the jumps for packing into the back country, especially in the deep snow months as they are light weight and a good number of them would fit into a pack basket.  Ace

I use Duke 1.5s straight out of the box and the cheapest darned 110 sized body gripping traps I can find.    It doesn't take much of a trap to hold a mink.   The real secret is knowing where to put that trap.

I use a lot of modified duke 1.75 and #3CS's for my land trapping.  I use Mont #1.5CS and #11's for water sets for coon.  Duke #330, for beaver and otter, along with MB750's.  and like OldCoon, and 110's for rats/mink, along with any 1.5LS's.

I use #1 stioploss for my rats.I also catch quite a few mink and coon in these traps each year. While I have victor and Blake and lambs---the Duke #1 stoploss is now the most used. I helped Bill Duke redesign this trap, and it is a dandy.
I also use a few colony traps for rats and mink.
For coon and mink pocket sets ,I like a #1 1/2 coil.
The 330 is my bread and butter trap, for Beaver and Otter.Species Specifics and Dukes ,make up most of my 330s.

well we use duke conis, coils and alot of our longsprings are dukes. we have some old northwoods coils and some old victor coils and longs. we are in the process of retireing our old traps and replacing w/ new dukes.  we find dukes are easy to modify, stout, and reliable traps. and as long as they keep making a quality trap for the price, they will have my bro and i business.
Some  people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

bridgers are the absolute best you can buy, but for the money, in high trap theft area-like here- we buy the best we can afford...dukes. i love the #330 for beaver, and the #1.5 and #2 are easy to modify.
