Does anyone know if theRCBS case trimmer pilots will fit on the lyman case trimmer?
I may be getting one soon and it is missing the pilots for 22, 24, and 9mm.

Can anyone tell me if the 45A will work on the 45-70 and 45 long colt?

i believe the rcbs trimmer is too big for the lyman case trimmer.
i bought a 32 cal rcbs pilot and it would not work in my lyman trimmer.

You can get the 9 pack pilot kit from Cabelas for less than $16 shipped...

At $4 a piece separately, I think the kit would be the best buy and ya get all of em plus the 45a that you asked about, it's for the 45 Colt, a bit loose for the 45-70, might work in a pinch, though.

Rickyp:

I got a whole display case of Lyman off e-bay for a couple of bucks a couple years ago.

I've got multiples of many, including the three you are looking for.

Shoot me your address via e-mail to artey@clatskanie.com and I'll get them headed your way if two bucks a piece sounds fair to you.  I'll pick up the shipping.

According to the box, the 45A will work on the 45 Colt and the 45 is for the 45-70.

There's a few I don't have multiples for but shoot me what you need and I'll try and help you out.
If I can make it go bang it can't be that hard to do.

thanks, I need to make sure the deal is done before I buy the pilots.

If the 45A will not work for the 45-70 I may need to find one for my 45-70

If it does go through just drop me a line and I'll get them on their way snail mail.  If you think two bucks a piece is too high just let me know and we can dicker ie. I'd be happy to get my postage and gas money for the trip to the post office back.   I've also got the 45 and 45A available if you decide.  Just drop me a list, and I'll get back to you with what I've got and we can go from there.  By the way, I usually use the lee trimmers but on occasion the Lyman trimmer gets used and I have found the power adapter that can be purchased for this trimmer to be quite handy.

I'd prefer if we do connect on this to have you hold any payment until you see if the pilots are going to be okay for you.  I have no idea how old these are but they came in the original retailer's box and appear to me to be as new.

I was told it was send today, I want to make sure of the ones that come with it,
I am almost sure I will be needing the 22, 24, 9mm (355) and 45. If so how does $8.00 for all of them sound?
I hope to know for sure monday evening

This would be alright from my end.  I'll wait for a final count and get them in the mail.

Hold any payment until you've had a chance to look them over.

Sounds like you're all set.  If you need any in the future they'll probably still be here.  I hope the trimmer works out for you.  I use the Lee trimmers for most of my stuff but the Lyman sure comes in handy if I want to go with a different length and for those that require a custom Lee trimmer ie. 8 mag. and I'm too cheap to pay for. :agree:
