unfortunately, probably a .45 or .50 cal muzzleloader!! It's looking like the best option of the availible choices for deer and elk. :?

280.  From what I hear, an excellent choice. Did you order it from the factory?
I hear very good things about the 280, though I don't have one myself.

Yup, they have the first week in October open for any elk and forked horn or better bucks in a unit that I've been hunting for the last 15yrs.

I plan to use my 7X64 Brenneke on White Tails this season. Then I may use the 7X57 in doe season. I have taken deer with 13 different calibers and these are 2 that I haven't used yet. We also have a muzzle loader season. I have the Huntsman in 45 and 50 calibers.

Found a Buddy with land up in northern part of MN.  45-70 for deer, up there.  If I get a chance down here in the southern part of the state it will be SLUG ONLY so that will be me smooth bore 20ga.  All the small game will get which ever I have a yen for on that day...410,12 or 20ga.  Its great to have a choice.

I will be using my AR13 Ram &1/2 with Carbon Express X-Weave arrows during the Oklahoma Archery Season.

Then, during our BP season, I'll be using my new Pursuit Pro muzzleloader.

Finally, during rifle season, I will probably be carrying the 45-70 Govt mostly, while my daughter carries her 7MM-08 Handi Rifle.

IF I get to to elk hunting, I'll be carrying my Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 300WSM.

Oh yeah.....I may go hog hunting with Digger and Lik8Hunt and take my 45-70.

If I don't get that 41 pistol that I'm planning on in time, it will be the 50 cal. huntsman for shotgun and muzzleloader season.  Depending on if I get around to hunting with a couple of my buddies, then it will also be the stainless 223 for coyotes.

Well, hopefully I can luck up on a muzzle loader and take advantage of the season this year.
But for my Handis...I believe the 30-06 UltraComp will be doing most of the talking. Then perhaps the 44Mag. I at least got to try it.
Seems like the wait is forever :?

I almost forgot.....coyotes.

I'll be using the new 204 Handi for coyotes, as well as the new M4 Carbine that I have ordered, and the old stand-by, the Colt AR15.

I hope to get my daughter her first coyote this year with her 7MM-08, or the .223 Ultra Varmint.

.270 for all my deer hunting, if I can get the "project" finished soon.  I still need to add butt pad, refinish, reassemble and start shooting.

The only hunting Handi I have is the 257 Roberts. I will take two deer with it. Two more with the #1 Ruger 25-06 and maybe two more with the 25Hunter. I am getting two extra tags for each one I applied for. That makes six doe deer. Then I have a general white tail tag for a buck and another two supplementary tags for Whitetail does. I already lost count.

Some country folks will be really happy to get some  deer given to.
My friend is a great jerky maker for the rest and two small ones for the freezer.

And if I am lucky I may get an Antelope draw????

Yes it's a factory fit, in fact they are still fitting it, along with a 20ga rifled slug barrel and sending a synthetic stock for me to try as well.

If the Handi isn't back in time to get it ready, it will be my Savage 30-06.

Nope...going to try to get it all assembled tonite if I stay up...just put in a 16hr OT day at work...and these old bones are letting me know... :) It came without any of the ejector parts...and no sites on it...and it is one of the real old ones they used to sell...so I have a-lot of fitting to do to make it work good...not to mention a complete reblue job to make it purty......I was going to send it off this week and have it rechamberd to 222 Remington...but I think I'll rework it completely first and see how it shoots...and since my oldest already has dibbs on it and my custom stocks...well...I'll just have to get it all together for him...and of course I have to try it out first
