Handguns in Africa?

How many of you hunt with handguns in Africa?
If: What caliber/bullet do you use?
I have ended up with a TC in .375 JDJ/Nosler Partition 260 gr. and a FA in .454 Casull/Lyman 325 gr. hard cast (but "count on the buttons" about a .475 Linebaugh) after some years with .357 Mag, .44 Mag and .30-30.

Be aware of that you are not allowed to bring with you more than 1 - one -handgun.
If you want to bring more than one handgun, your application for an import permit must be directed to:
CENTRAL FIREARMS REGISTER, PRIVATE BAG X 811, SOUTH AFRICA, PRETORIA, 0001.
Your application must include a DETAILED motivation for your application to be considered.

There are much easier guaranteed ways to get a handgun into RSA for hunting. I include all the fees for this in my hunting packages. If your interested in a handgun hunt you really should arrange it with somebody who does this for a living. If you forget one thing or misstate one thing your finished and will not get a permit. Go with an Outfitter that does this all the time and be assured that the paperwork will be done right and you can relax and enjoy the hunting!

"Go with an Outfitter that does this all the time and be assured that the paperwork will be done right"

JJ is right - if you not know the system/rules/how to do things.

Just a little reminder about the paperwork regarding the guns:
Use a pen with BLACK colour.
If not - maybe a    policeman will tell you:
"Do your paperwork as stated - and come back when you have done it".
(If you are lucky - the cew is small)
