The ones on the lower polymer part that guides the slide? I broke mine down to clean it the other day, and noticed that both of them on the right side (The side closest to my body when I carry) were pretty rusted....I scraped them with a dental pick and put CLP on them. This happened to anyone else?

Saw,

We have dozens of Glocks in the office, so far no one has seen that, or if they have no one has answered up. What we are seeing, are the night sights kind of rusting......guess they don't have the same coating the rest of the gun does.

Other issues we have seen are: Glock 22 frames cracking (Glock recall for them); Glock 27s jamming (we'll get there); Glock 22 slide breaking things and flying off ( :shock: freak occurrence per Glock and everyone else, never seen nor heard of that one before but guess it was a hoot to watch); couple Glocks blew up (think that was an ammo issue), and bad mags after a couple years use.

Laid over in Hawaii one time on my way to Guam, had my SIG 220 on me (cleaned, oiled, etc.). Got to Guam after essentially an entire day with 6-7 hours in Hawaii......the 220s slide was rusted!!!! Go figure.

I read this and went to see if i had any rust because this area of the country is raining a lot lately, BUt there was not any. I always use AMS OIL- MP its a metal protector and it seems to work great, Its made by
amsoil inc. superior wi. 54880 usa. After i clean my 22glock i sprey this oil on all the metal parts and it seems to work. Good luck........Joe.........

Thanks guys, I thought it was weird too, seeing the Glock torture test and all. I did some research online and found out that some people's bodies can make the stainless steel on the back of a watch rust. Although thats never happened to me, This might be in the same area.

I've carried my G27 in a UC Compression T-Shirt for sometime and those draw moisture away from your body :shock: I have not encountered any rust period on my G27.

I used to have the body type that did that. I could rust a stainless gun just by picking it up with sweaty hands if it wasn't wiped down with an oily rag after I handled it. This happened repeatedly so there was no freak accidents. Ruger stainless revolver, NIB Colt 1991A1 stainless, ect. And blued guns....I had to be very careful. My gun dealer and best friend just took it in stride and had a rag handy whenever I was over, and wiped down anything I looked at. I've even rusted my fingerprint into a freshly cleaned Marlin 1895SS barrel by placing it back into its place in the safe.

Thankfully it seemed to only last a few years, as I don't have problems like that anymore. Makes all of us happy.
