Scope creep on 7000

After a day of shooting my new Marlin 7000 I noticed that my scope has creeped back alot, I am just wondering how I can prevent this from happening again.

try rubber cement and tighten mounts more

I have seen people use rubber cement glue (it never really hardens it turns into rubber like stuff).  Then tighten mounts and rub of the excess glue after it drys.

Check out BKL dovetail scope mounts. I have not used them but a lot of rimfire shooters swear by them. At the top of the pages on GBO forums you can find their advertisement. :D

Go to rimfire central and on the marlin forum do a search for your problem,you'll find many fixes.I had the same problem and installed a set screw in mine,now its ok.

try putting lining inside of mounts with black electrical tape.   this will increase friction between tube and mounts and does the trick nicely.

yeah the black electrical tape thing works. when you buy new millett rings i know they come with one sided black tape in the package for that reason and it seems to work well.
