I Just Can't Win !!!
« on: August 26, 2005, 05:08:42 AM »
Hi all, I just need to vent a little...  I've finally found a Ruger M77 RSM in .375 H&H that matches my Ruger M77 Express rifle in 30-06. Great thing right? Wrong! My company just informed us of pending layoffs and cut backs in all departments!    Since I've only been here 3 years it doesn't look too good for me..  So it looks like I'm going to miss another opportunity to get a .375 H&H! Darn, this is really getting annoying now!  :x Oh well, I guess I'll just update the resume, keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.. CEJ...[/b]
If I can't take my rifles with me, I don't want to go!

The company I work for always waits until the week before Christmas to bring on the bad news.

Good luck!!!

I was an Intelligence Officer in the Navy.  The aviators in my first squadron would rib me saying "naval intelligence, there's an oxymoron."

I'd shoot back, saying "No, alert pilot, there's an oxymoron."

But when I got out and started working in the private sector I found out that "job security" was the real oxymoron.

China Fleet Sailor - No truer words were ever spoken! I got through this round of layoffs thank the good Lord, but who knows about next time! Dedication, loyalty and skill don't mean much to some employers these days.    CEJ...

I've worked at several companies that have undergone multiple rounds of layoffs. It's harder psychologically on the people that are left than those who are fired.  The ones who are left often have feelings of guilt because they are still there.  One man I know developed terrible stress related symptoms because he was still left after three rounds of firings.  He was so stressed out that he eventually quit his job to work for another company, then he eventually returned after things had settled down. This is not just my observation, but it's a known syndrome called, I believe, "survivor's syndrome".

Keep this in mind, and make the best of the situation.  Things will settle down eventually, and you'll be able to get that .375. It's certainly worth waiting for.
