I have and have had both the 1100 Classic Trap and the BT99; although my 99 was the plus version. If you plan to shoot doubles then the only answer is the 1100. As far as the BT99, it is a great singles/handicap gun. The higher rib helped me a lot on the 99. The BT99 is very reliable and re-buildable. The 1100 can be repaired by the user easily with inexpensive parts as well as being very familiar to a lot of local gunsmiths. My BT99 was sold when I stopped shooting trap a while back. It is a "Trap" gun and really not useful for much else. I kept the 1100 as I can use it in the field as well. With a barrel change it can go to the skeet range easily. Now I am starting to shoot trap again and the 1100 will be going with me. I have a lot of rounds through the gun in a short time and it has been 100% for me. When I purchased the Classic Trap I had the forcing cone lengthened. I recently purchased a Tournament Skeet 1100 and was going to have the same thing done to it; the newer 1100 competition gun came with the forcing cone already lengthened. I dont believe you will be unhappy with either shotgun.
