I am refering to rifles and myself.  Grabbed 3 out of the safe yesterday and went plinking.  Took these: Rem. 241, open sights, Marlin 39A (1953) peep sight and a Rem. md. 12c, peep sight.  Didn't know how it was going to be with my older eyes.  It was great even with the 241.  Shot several hundred rounds through the 3 of them.  Great way to relax and have fun.  Over the last couple of years have been doing most my .22 shooting with scoped rifles, didn't think I could see iron sights to shoot small targets.  Guess you never know,  I hadn't shot the Rem. 12c in 15 years,  that wont happen again.  May be Sunday aft will be a good time to shoot again.

I'm glad to hear about another "experienced" .22 rimfire shooter enjoying vintage rifles. I have a Remington Model 41 bolt action and a Model 121 Pump action that I shoot with iron sights. They really are great fun on the range for plinking and an occasional squirrel hunt.

Sounds like you had a good time Popple cop!  8)   I missed out on a fixer upper last week. Some one had a Pump Savage 22 octagon barrel but a decent bore even though the outside metal was worn to the white. Stock had a large chunk missing and tbe action was stiff probably needed a good cleaning. 50 bucks at the gun shop but on consignment.  I would have bought it but it was a consignment gun so I had to have cash on the barrel head other wise I would have put it on layaway until I got paid.  :(  Or traded one of the milsurps that I have on consignment now. Seems like that always happens that way. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Just inherited the same rifle from my father who passed away recently. He taught me to shoot with it 45 years ago, still in excellent order with case, cleaning gear and tang aperture. Kept the family fed in the early days with rabbits, the odd deer, goat and illegal pheasants. It will become a family heirloom.

I would guess the 67 has some collectability like most all old Winchesters do now. Never had one or owned one but I would bet it is a good shooter. I do not have a current price guide so I cannot give you a accurate price on it. My 2000 RL Wilson price guide says fair $50.00 VG $100.00 and Excellent $150.00 if it is a boys model the prices are 75, 150 and 250 for the same catagories. Since this is a 5 year old guide expect the values to be a bit more for todays prices. Jim
