I have 2 rem 11's (not mil"s), one of them does not like plastic hull's, will jamb just about every shot.
the other one was left with me because of a family prob. Have had it for 4 yrs now, think its gonna become mine. Might take it out and see how it handles the plastic hulls. You shooting plastic hulls in the mil. type?

Yes i ran a box of remington heavy dove shells thru it earlier today..
I did have a couple stovepipes though.. other than that it ran fine , I should have posted this in my first post
I did some looking on the web .. the barrel markings show it was made in
Sept. 1943  WWII vintage !!

The one that I have shot belongs to my father-in-law. He left it with me cause he knew it would get good care. In other words it would get cleaned up, oiled, ETC...He just turned 87 in Jul and dosent hunt or shoot any more. He did say the old paper shells fed and ejected with no probs.
He also left his 1899 Savage 30/30 with me to take care of (I know clean and oil ETC...) He used to be a rancher and cattleman in S/E Oregon.
Theres no bluing or finnish left on the savage. It was made in 1924, his dad bought it new then and passed it down to him. Its gonna go from me to his grand daughter in latter years.
Guess the other Rem 11 and couple other guns gonna be mine, so gonna take the Rem out in the next week or so (after I clean, oil and ETC...) and see how it works.

:D Nice gun.  Mine has set in the safe for many years with no use.  I also have both a model 97 and a model 12 Winchester military trench gun.

These guns are getting harder and harder to find.  Back in the late 50s while I was in the military I was put on a detail to destroy thousands of military shotguns.  We used a cutting torch and cut acrosss the receiver and down the barrel, the way the cut was made nothing could be used off that gun.

I don't think it hurts to shoot these guns, but I would take care of it.  You have a piece of history, and there are not a lot of them around today.  I see very few at the gun shows.  Keep your eye pealed for an Ithaca model 37 trench gun with military markings. I recently seen one of them go for $10,000. at an auction.
