Does anyone have a custom shop barrel? If so what do you think of it. I would like to try a contender barrrrel in 25-20.  Also what would be a good barrel length in this caliber. Thanks for any info.

I have a 16.25" T/C Custom shop barrel, it's a 300 Whisper and I had it  done in stainless steel. The workmanship is flawless and it shoots better than I do, 3/4" groups at 100 yards are possible even with me firing it. I would order another with out any hesitation, and will if I ever need another barrel.

I have a couple of them, a 223 contender 20" bull that shoots 1/2" consistently. And an 18" 450 marlin Encore bull barrel that will shoot 1" on a good day. All at 100 meters. Very nice top notch quality.  KN

I have a 6.5TCU Contender Custom Shop, and a 270 Winchester Encore Custom Shop. The workmanship is flawless, gorgeous bluing and both are very accurate. But as far as accuracy goes, I only have SSK barrels to compare it to. Too me, there is no difference. I don't feel they are the junk steel some people write about! AND--TC will back up there product 100%. At least for me they did, with no quarrel what so ever!
Good luck!

I have one in a 41 Mag.  Workmanship is good, bluing is great, accuracy is all I could ask for.  Took about 6 weeks to get the barrel.  I would order from them again if I wanted a caliber that was not a factory offering.

I have two of them .  A 41Mag and a 250 Savage 22" rifle barrel.  The workmanship is great.  I have only shot the 250 regularly.  It did right at 1" with the first batch of reloaded bullets.  After I experiment a little more with the load I am betting that will tighten up to under an inch.  I have not shot the 41 but I was told when I purchased it that it was doing a 1" with factory ammo.  I have no reason to doubt it since the 250 did exactly what the previous owner said it would (I got both barrels from him).

I am also thinking of a .25 - 25-20, 25-35, or 256. I would be interested in how it works for you.

custom shop barrels?

I have found Barrels from TC's custom shop to be as good or better looking than most aftermarket barrels.
They shoot very well and have the best warranty.
You might ask PJ about his 6BR

I looked it up and it looks good, but I am looking for something lower power. I have some thoughts of light loads with a rifle scope.

Thanks

The only thing about the custom shop barrels that I don't like is that when you get a revolver cartridge chambering, they insist on using the long .4 or so inch throat that the factory barrels come with.  This makes it very difficult, if not impossible to seat your bullets out close to the rifling.  Other than that though, they are great barrels and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, but likely not in a revolver chambering like 357, 44 or 45 colt.
