I have no personal experience with the 24/7 but while I wouldn't hesitate in buying a Taurus revolver, I would think twice before getting one of their autoloaders.

Haven't had a 24/7, but have owned several Taurus pistols and revolvers and never had any trouble from any of them. Still have a Millinium Pro .40 cal and other than the long trigger pull it is a good gun.

Had the Millinium Pro in 9mm and wasn't too happy with it. Got a few revolvers and like them better than my S&W revolvers.

sureshot,

I have the stainless 24/7 in .40 S&W...I have had no problems with mine; a couple failures to feed, but it was VERY dirty when that happened.

I love the feel...it's pretty accurate; I'm comfortable with mine out to 25 yds.  don't think you'd be unhappy if you get one...everyone who has shot mine really likes it.

:cb2: My Taurus automatic had a serious problem. Pull the trigger all the way backĀ—and nothing. Let off the trigger, and BANG. Had to send it back to Taurus twice. (That was $52 total for shipping out of my pocket.) They finally fixed it, and I sold it ASOP. That was my last Taurus. Ever.

If you want an inexpensive .45 ACP, go Ruger.

You know what's sad? I knew what ASOP meant and I didn't even notice the typo  :?
