I currently have a Handi in .204 and after alittle work have really got a great shooter. I have always been a bolt action guy but I can't get enough of these New Englands. I am planning on giving my wife my Handi for her first varmint rifle and am planning on another .204. I almost bought another bolt gun(Savage or Remington) but think I will buy another New England! I really like the Fluted Ultra and am wondering what others think? Does the longer barrel make for better accuracy and are there any differences between the Ultra and a handi? Is the trigger better, better quality, or is it the same as a Handi, but with 24'' Fluted barrel and Choate stock and forend? I already put a Choate stock and forend on my Handi and love the setup. Any help would be appreciated!

sounds like a plan to me , how do u like that choate varmint stock, i didnt care for the exposed stock bolt

compared to the survivor stock

The exposed bolt doesn't bother me, I really like how that stock shoulders!

I have a Fluted 223 and 204, like the Choate stocks so much, put them on my 45-70, 308 and Bull Barrel 22-250. Helps a lot with recoil too.......

Have any of you attached a bipod to your Choate varmint stocks? If so, how do they shoot with it? I'm thinking of adding both to my .22hornet handi . :grin:

Many of us have, so far they don't work well with the bipod. I floated mine from the screw forward but haven't shot it yet to see how it works.

My 22-250 with Bull Barrel with the Choate stock and wally world bipod shot very good at 50 yards, about an inch higher than from my rest, was surprised........

Thanks for your input. I think I'll try a bipod on mine and see how it shoots. If not very well, then I'll put it on my Rem 700 in .25-06.
