Action opening on fireing
« on: August 28, 2005, 05:33:41 PM »
Twice in a hundred rounds the action of my .243 Handi rifle has opened a bit. The cases are not damaged. I use loads under the max and there are no signs of over pressure. I try to make a sure snap close.

Ant suggestions or cautions?

thanks,
mike

Sorry, I did not look down a ways and see that this was already being discussed. I have no problem closing the rifle. I was using factory loads when one of the openings happened. I see no headspace problems. I have now read the FAQ and will take the thing apart and clean the action. Any more information on honing the latch shelf?

embarassed,
mike
