Experience With E. Arthur Brown Co. Custom Barrels?
« on: August 29, 2005, 10:49:39 AM »
E. Arthur Brown Co. (www.eabco.com) offers a couple of types of custom Encore and Contender barrels in addition to factory barrels.  There are the "ordinary" custom barrels and the more expensive "accuracy" custom barrels.  Anyone have any experience with these (particularly in Encore or Contender pistols)?  Are they likely to be any more accurate than the T/C factory barrels?

I have an EABco 15" contender .22LR match barrel that was originally ordered through them, but which was made by Virgin Valley for them. its a great shooter.

I dont know who EABco is using now for their "accuracy" barrels, but have wondered that myself since VV is gone...

When I bought one of the BF pistols about 10 years ago, he was using Bullberry.  I have several BB barels and they have all been outstanding shooters, not just very good.  All were well under moa for four, 5-shot group aggs.  The .25 Bullberry and the .300 Savage were between .5 and .7 moa aggs with their best loads.  The BF pistol in .25-20 is a real shooter too.

I bought a 15" 6.5 US barrel that came from EABCO.  It is a 30-30 case necked down to 6.5.  It will do anything the 6.5 JDJ can with common EASY to find brass.  I have a 2-6 B&L 3200 scope on it and can shoot under an 1 MOA groups every time.   It has found a permenant home.
