Animal: All four of my BLRs are the straight grip models, including two in 358. For field use, I find the straight grip model to be very convenient to carry - it is easy to keep one's fingers in the straight lever (with your trigger finger outside the trigger guard) and carry the rifle with one hand for short periods when you are maneuvering through brush, etc., enabling you to use your other free hand for support or for holding back limbs, etc. And you still have a hand position that allows for quick shouldering and firing, if need be. On the bench, I belief the pistol grip would probably be a little more comfortable to hold, but most people don't buy BLRs for bench shooting (especially in 358!).
Great rifle and a great cartridge.
