I saw an ad on tv a few months ago about a climbing treestand that has cables that you can adjust while climbing up the tree. I plan on buying it but I forgot the name of it and cannot find it. Does anyone have the product that I am talking about?

Amacker patented such an arrangement quite a few years ago. They offer some stands with the feature and so did the Loc-On company at one time. I have a Loc-On Contender that uses it. Worked OK when new but it depends on a bungee cord to pull it back together and those cords get weak with age and need to be replaced. I never have figured out how to replace it.

Might be someone else making them but that's the only truly adjustable one I know of that as you climb you can make it smaller and as you come down you can adjust it out larger.

Any of the climbing stands with cables "can be" adjusted at risk of life and limb when doing it. The Amacker Adjuster mechanism is the only one I'm aware of intended to be done that way.

Thanks for your info Graybeard.  The Amacker adj magnun really looks nice. I read a message from you stating that the new ones are made of steel and I was looking for something that won't be difficult to get in and out of the woods.  The one I saw on the commercial had a knob on it. (kind of like most people I know have to turn their water on-off to their waterhose)

You might be searching for Timbertall Treestands...They have the adjustable self leveling knob on their stands...They are really light too.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for WNY_Whitetailer.  Do you have any experience with these stands?  From the pics on the website it appears that you have to put you boots under the side frame to lift it up.  I think it would be a lot safer if they put straps on it.  I could probably rig something up if I decide to get one.  I have also been looking at the Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer.  Does anyone have any experience with this stand?

I have been thinking about the Buckshot Equalizer. It may be of interest to you also.

I requested their dvd, and got it in a week or two.

I believe Northstarr treestands have that feature-at least on the Tree Cat Archer model.
