Simmons Master Series Scopes
« on: August 31, 2005, 01:11:34 PM »
I am wondering if aybody has tried one of these yet? Is it a good deal, or would I just end up replacing it, for a more expensive model?
right now on my 22-250 I have a Bushnell elite 3200, 5-15 X 40, it's nice and all, but this gun shoots like a laser, and I'd like more magnifacation. Plus getting a side focus parallax adjustment, without dropping 700.00 would be nice.
Thanks in advance for your help,
AL

I think the only ones available are the new 8 points, Simmons said they won't have the others out until September some time and then only the lower power models with the higher power models even later this year. No one at RFC has reported on anything but the 8-point at Walmart...and there are a bunch chomping at the bit to try em!!

Bass Pro had several of the master series scopes in the Prohunter line.
I'm waiting to look through the 4x14x44 Aetec.

Thats the Bass Pro near Charlotte NC.

These scopes are so light is what concerns me. I have had good luck with the Aetecs in the past but the 8x24x40 is only 12 ounces. That is so much lighter than any other scope I am familiar with that I am hesitant to buy one.-------vernonp

I bought one of the Master series 8-points and mounted it on a .280 Handi.

A friend bought a Wal Mart Savage .30-06 package deal that came with the old style 8-point and has had very good service from it.  I picked up a .44 Mag and an ATV and have been pretty impressed with both.  So I decided to try out the new 8-point.

Its not as clear as any of my Banners or even a couple Tasco Golden Antlers I have, but the adjustments have been true and its holding a zero at 100 yds.
