30-06 UltraComp from MT3030 - First time out at the range
« on: August 31, 2005, 05:34:21 PM »
I purchased a 30-06 Ultra from MT3030 a couple of weeks ago and finally got out to the range to give it a test run.  I loaded some 150 gr Sierras and old Remington 180 gr bronze tips that I've been holding onto for 20 yrs or so.  I started with the 150 gr bullets and after getting it onto the paper I shot the three shot group shown here.  I had one round left and moved it over and up a little... I think I'm about ready to go hunting.  Never shot a comp barrel before... I think my 11 yr old could shoot it.

Congrats on getting one of the best 30-06's going for our Handi's and good shooting... :D

You might want to try some of these...I did pretty good on the last postal match with them..

And here's how they shoot for me...

That's a 5 shot .233" group at 100 yards from a 30-06 Ultra-Comp...and I don't think I'll bother finding any other deer load for it..
