New Lee Cowboy molds
« on: February 26, 2003, 05:19:31 AM »
Noticed in the magazines that Lee is now making a 165 gr .45LC RNFP mold.  Anyone have any experience with this?
Looks like a good way to cut recoil for the Mrs. when we shoot CAS
thanks

just called Lee and it's a 160 gr .45LC.  Ordered the 6-cav and will report when it comes in.
So new that it's not on their web-page nor does Midway have it yet.

Do they have any "new" cowboy molds in .38 too?

160gr for a .45?  That's gettin pretty light.  Heck a standard .38 spl is 158 grns.   But sometimes the bigger calibers offer the flexibility of launching a bigger bullet when you want that option.  The biggest a .38 will do is about 200 grains.
