Choke question

I had forcing cone work and a custom choke put in my shotgun (870 REM 12 gauge) years ago for turkey hunting. Would it hurt the choke to shoot
buckshot through it?

I think it might be the other-way around. Many times too tight a choke will deform the buckshot, and hurt the pattern.
