I just picked up a "older" T/C Renegade, double set triggers and wooden stock in nearly new condition for $175. I see them for sale for $225 to $250 regularly.

Well moose, ya asked three questions and made one statement with two problems

1. more than you can afford(obvious)
2. yes
3. no
 4+5. (beater)yourself-up about "boat and dog" box.
6. good luck hunting hogs

p.s plus;
,,,what  are these guy's thinkin??? that nobody has done anything??? I mean we just had a guy say that "squrills'" hang up in trees????? and need too be shot more than once,,(whaa?) and now another feller want's a canoe gun,  for cheap, just to kill the hog really dead,, and it/s all about "black powder guns",,, uhhmm,? i don't get it.

What part of  "hello':)  we shoot Traditional guns,,:) wave..,,smile

:D Moose check your local pawn shops, I have bought 2 renegades for 100.00 apiece, a grey hawk for 100.00 and a friend of mine sold me a tree hawk for 50.00 this past friday, Most pawn dealers will come down on the price if you ask them, I usally just make them an offer and they take it.

Several on GunBroker and AuctionArms right now in the $100+ range...in particular, there's a left handed version with gorgeous wood, what you might call presentation grade wood, at a steal...

(I'd cringe at the thought of using it as a beater though  :wink: )

Dear Mr lostid,
I stand corrected by your vast knowledge of all things related to BP. As to your offer for my Renegade, I believe you just chastised a poster for making a similar offer in another thread. I believe the word you used was "rude".

OK LostID I just happen to have one I'll part with under the terms of that offer. It's a .50 with double triggers in near new condition. Contact me via PM or via phone at 256-435-1125 to arrange for payment and shipping. Now let's see if you're serious.

IMO:

The Renegade is more versatile with it's 1" barrel bed because it will accept .50/.54/.58 caliber barrels made for it by TC, and GM;

The New Englander is pretty straight forward, is what it is, etc;

The Scout has a very unique shape, it's an 'inline' and it's design makes it ambidexterous.
I do not speak from personal experience owning one but will say you should investigate this point further to your own satisfaction: I've read where the Scout had occasional blowback into the face from the cap being right in front of the shooters eyes with only a hammer between the cap and the eyes.

All are TC's and have the benefit of TC's outstanding lifetime service, however, the TC Hawken and the Renegade are the only two long time models that TC still has in production.

Moose I'm not sure if you ever got a real answer on your original question. A lot of Renegades have been bought and sold thru the GBO Classifieds. In fact that's where I got the one I so generously offered to lostid at his stated price. Best as I recall I paid $160 shipped for it. Personally I'd not go over $150-175 for one even a really nice near new looking one.

You might still be able to get them new thru the Custom Shop of TC. Last price I saw on them new as about $300 thru there.

For the record, LostID did call me via phone last night and we had a nice long conversation.

Seems he is looking for a "very specific" Renegade not just a Renegade. But in fairness you really haven't anywhere above specified that. Yes the original question asked about an "old beater Renegade". It didn't specify caliber or barrel twist. At no point prior to our phone conversation last night did the matter of an old one with 15/16" across the flats barrel and round ball twist come up here. Your specific offer was:

Quote
I'll take every T/C Renegade you can get for $ 225,,and give you $30 more for your effort and pay shipping!!!!!!!!

Now ,,tell me more please,,,,,,,,!!!!!!

Note it don't say every OLD Renegade or every old Renegade with 15/16" barrel and RB twist. So I still think the offer I made was valid.

But after our conversation via phone I do now know what you really want. I've not dug it out yet to see if it qualifies under the terms you mentioned by phone. Might, might not. But for sure it qualifies under what ya wrote.

Just a simple misunderstanding. Stuff happens. Not the biggest deal in the world.

As a result of his contact tho I am gonna remove those posts that infer he would not contact me.

During my phone conversation with GB he said he doesn't  know much about black powder shooting,,he said doesn't know about twist rates and/or how to find twist rates,,,I said twist rates for bp guns are the same as modern guns,, and the confusion was about when I said I haven't fired modern arms for at least twenty years. He seemed a bit stalled,,when I said only black powder for 20 years, the man was speachless" he "chuckled"..
 well,, that's what I do,,bp,, if you think that's funny bill,,please don't mock

I am the one that is wrong! The topic  was "what are the old T/C renegade selling for now",did they make it in wood and comp stock????"

see gb? now all the pro's go off """"not knowing, i don't need sarcasim anymore than anyone else does.
 I'm not going to argue with the owner of the website,,i just ask for informed conversation in a realistic manner
