Ruger 96/17 trigger
« on: September 04, 2005, 05:54:20 PM »
Just aquired a nearly new Ruger 96/17 levergun.  The trigger is pretty bad.  Although I don't understand the reason for it, I can live with the two-stage pull.  The realy problem is that it breaks at maybe 6-8 puonds(more than the 4 1/2 pounds on my trigger pull gauge anyway).

Anybody else have this problem with the 96/ 17 - 22 - 44?  Is there an aftermarket solution like lighter springs?

I was shooting 5/8" groups at 60 yards or so today but I get a lot of flyers from jerking the super-heavy trigger.

maybe try asking on one of the rimfire boards.  Rimfirecentral.com would proberly be the best place to start.
