Trade in value of a Model 7600 Never been fired.

Hi:

  Can someone tell me what I could get for a trade in value for my Model 7600 in 30-06 . The rifle is about 17 years old.  Got it for a Christmas present and it has just been sitting on the gun rack. Would like to trade it in for a smaller caliber rifle. Never been fired . Looks brand new.

The price is gonna depend on your locality as much as condition and caliber.

Around here, (NEW ENGLAND) that gun would sell for about $300 as you describe it. So you could expect a dealer to be offering you about half that.

You're better to try to sell it privately.

Few dealers will offer you more than 30% of the market value.

If its in as good a shape as you say, you should be able to get about 75% of the current replacement cost for it in a private sale - maybe more if you live in an area where they're popular.  I don't know the US list price for these guns so I can't be more specific.

New wood stock 7600 have dealer cost of around 480.00 before shipping.
Plastic stock 7600 dealer cost 395.00. So I would expect a dealer to offer you $250 to $325 for your unfired 7600 In Aug a local dealer took a 95% 7600 in 35 whelen, and they bought it out right for $250.00 I bought the gun right after the deal for $325
Some dealers may give a little more if your trading it toward a high $$$
gun, that they are having a hard time moving.
A dealer is going to ask over 400.00 for your gun, once it's in there shop.
