Anybody else hunt in the CWD zones?  At first I was all gung-ho for helping out the DNR "eradicate" the disease; but  it sure is getting frustrating.  Differnet rules every year, getting excited just to actually geta shot at a doe rather than hoping for a nice buck.  I know, I know, the same gripes everyone's had since this all began, and I do give the DNR alot of credit for jumping on the problem right away and trying to at least contain it.  But I wonder if deer hunting will ever be the same around here...   Oh well, thanks for letting me wine.

i have alot of issues with their managment program.   first off, if they wanted deer eradicated in the zone,  throw the rules out the window.  let people kill deer.  shining lights, shooting from vehicles,  non-stop seasons.  their "eradication program" has been a joke from the word "go".  

combine that with the t zones,  and i think you have plenty to whine about.  

screw it,  i am starting to concentrate on bird hunting again.

I guess at least I can go bow hunting for a couple of weeks before it opens for rifles this year.  

  How is the grouse population this year?

There are none at least in the northern part of the state.  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  Considering that wood cock are declining too that does not leave much up here for upland game birds. No Pheasants to speak of, or quail and no huns either. Few Sharptails but not worth hunting if you have to get a stamp.

I do most of my hunting just west of Monroe, WI. Will start bow hunting for deer pretty soon.

Yes Part-timer, I frequently hunt in and also adjacent to the CWD zone. which may have been extended even further my way this season.
