Bi-pod or Mono-pod

I have a 15"Encore and cant make up my mind what kind of shooting sticks to get.  I alternate between stand and ground hunting. What do you guys prefer .

I bought a monopod to shoot with ...will be using  15" 460 S&W and 15" 7mm-08 Encore...haven't tried it yet though. Usually sit with my back against a tree and use my knees to shoot off of............

I always have used a bi-pod. A lot more steady than a mono-pod. JMHO.  :D

Since moving to a ground stand, I've used a monopod.

I love my adjustable PoleCat bipod.  Give it a try...you won't be disappointed.  I can use it for standing and sitting shots and any shots in between.

I bought an adjustable walking staff with a Y yoke that I have used in the past for a rest.  It is better than off hand, but predictably not as good as sandbags.  If you can get the right place to prop yourself and get a firm grip on the staff it is OK.

I actually use both a Harris Bypod or a set of Home Made Crossed Shooting Sticks depending on the situation. If I can get prone or am shooting Varmints from a Portable Shooting Bench I use the Harris Bypod. I have also had a couple ground blind set ups for Deer Hunting in which I rested the Harris Bypod on a Tree Stump, but most of the time when Deer Hunting or Calling Coyotes I use my Home Made Crossed Shooting Sticks.

I have tried a Mono Pod, and just did not feel steady enough with it.

Bi-pods are more stable, but limit "panning" to some degree.Usually not a problem though. I carry them all the time when covering lotsa territory. I made this set for under 10 bucks.

But, if I'm going to do a morning or afternoon "stand", I prefer this setup.
It'S rock soild and pivots 360 degrees,(that would be my son checking it out).

Oh, and it is fairly portable, breaks down, and fits a small suitcase,weighs about 30 #'s
