As far as recoil goes it all depends on whether it's a .300 Win. Mag., .300 Weatherby Mag. or .300 Remington Ultra Mag.  Which one is it?  If it's one of those "7 pound wonders" your shoulder may file suit for damages.     Lawdog

I have a 700 in .300 mag.  The rifle is laminate and not especially light.  I like the gun although it's had some safety/trigger issues.  The recoil isn't fun but I'm not a recreational shooter.  I never feel the recoil in the field and I only shoot a few rounds each fall to make sure the scope is still on.
