Looks like i'm getting a 22-250 barrel. No it's not the UVF, just the standard 22-250 22" barrel. I know there is a few people that have this barrel or the other one. Can some one point me in the direction of a good load? I'm not sure what everyone else having luck with.

I've order some remington brass, got some CCI primers, and some 50gr Nosler Ballistic tips. I think i'm gonna try AA 2230 powder to start with.

Any load info you can give on tis one would be great.

Good choice, the .22-250. I used to have a lot of fun shooting crows with mine using a 50 gr. Hornady SX, oh yeah.  :gun4:

Drew, I'm shooting a book load from Hodgdon with 31.5gr(start) to 34.5gr(max) of BL-C2, WLR primer and Win brass and the 50gr Vmax, 2.484" COL (.006" off the lands) in mine, haven't got the load worked up yet,  got a bad batch of powder, so my loads so far were wasted, but it looks good for great velocity and lower pressure than other powders and it's an extreme powder so it shouldn't change POI and accuracy with temp changes. Hodgdon sent me a new can of powder which seems to be fine, it meters thru the Lyman, a good sign since the bad batch wouldn't. The lower pressure is always a good choice for a Handi.... :wink:

My favorite load for this caliber has always used H380 powder.
Just like the label says...38 grs is the magic number!!!

 I have heard it said that is how the powder was named... :grin: ...not sure on that account.

+1 the 22-250 i shot was a mauser (dad's not mine) but it liked H380 too but with a 50 grain sierra

Thanks for the replies. I think i might try to find some of those 35 Berger bullets. I wanna see what kind of velocites i can get with those.
