G2 209x50
« on: September 12, 2005, 09:10:54 AM »
I am looking to get a muzzle loader barrel for my G2 and was wanting to know if the G2 would support the 50cal.   Bullberry shows on their web site that they make one for the G-2, but T/C's web site say's nothing about a 50 for the G2.  Anyone have a ga2 209xi50?  If so how dose it shoot.

I don't think they make the 50 for the G2 just a 45 cal.
Good luck and shoot straight.

The 209x50  IS now available for the G2.  It is listed in the most recent catalog.  It isn't on their website.  I've found that gun makers don't update their websites as often as they should.  By the way, it is available from Midway.  It is 24" long and has a 1 in 28" twist and goes for $275.  As of right now, they have 4 available.

Bullbarry said they could make one any length I wanted up to 27in.   with a four month back log I guess I am out of luck this season.

I was at my local gun shop the other day and saw a 209x50 G2 all set up.  It is a really light and small rifle.  I can't imagine shooting that thing with full bore loads.  On the other hand it would make a sweet elk hunting rifle.  You could carry it all day long in the mountains.  There is a special forend for the muzzle loader barrel, but I think its the same as the 209x45 barrel
