Laser-cast bullets

anyone ever try Oregon Trails Laser-cast silver bullets. They say that they are guaranteed to not lead. I guess you are suppose to load the same as copper? I have a 444 I want to try them in.

Yes, I've used Oregon Trail bullets in 9mm, 30-30, 45colt, 45-70, 45acp, 357mag and 38spl.

I've seen some trace leading, but very minimal. As they say, usually there is no leading. Always easy to clean barrels.....and very satisfied with accuracy.

I once had a 444 marlin that didn't have ballard rifling. If yours has micro-groove rifling, you may be disappointed.

They're nothing special. If you've got good loads, you will not get leading with other hard cast bullets. If you can get a good deal on them, use them, but otherwise you can do just as well by paying less for another good hard cast bullet.

Whip - if you want to try cast bullets in your 444, go to Beartooth Bullets.  Marshall Stanton has completed an incredible amount of work on the 444, borelapping and using cast loads.  I have always thought highly of the 444, but since going with Beartooth loading data and bullets I cannot imagine doing any better (better than 3/4" at 100m with 300 - 330 cast gaschecked slugs).

I have used Beartooth bullets to take large Russian Boar, Elk and whitetail and WOW, do heavy cast slugs make the 444 shine or what.  Go to Beartooth, read Stanton's articles on borelapping and the use of cast bullets, follow the process he lays out (it's fun shootin') and then enjoy and appreciate your accurate and very hard hitting Triple 4.  Buenos Luck and HTH.  Mikey.
