7mm-08 Accessory Barrel on Order
« on: September 15, 2005, 06:52:13 AM »
Well I finally did it...That accessory barrel discount gave me the excuse I needed to send in my Ultra Varmint 223 receiver, stock and forearm to H&R so that they can fit a 7-08 barrel to it.  It will run me a grand total of $87 for the new barrel plus my shipping costs to MA.  Now to wait for the rifle to come back to me so that I can get to shooting it.

I'm going to purchase a Mueller 2-7x32 Scope for it next week so I can mount it up when the gun gets here.  I'm excited...If this comes together in time then I can take this gun hunting with my this coming November.

You will like the 7mm-08 its a great cal. I already have one in the Handi Ultra. Had to do a little tweeking but finally got it to shoot an acceptable group, 1moa or there abouts is good enough for me. I know guys on this forum have did better. I have the 7mm-08 in a 416 Striker pistol so will carry it in a side holster and the Ultra for the long shots if this old fat guy can pack both. We get some shots at deer 350-400 yds sometimes here in Nebr. but also get alot at 100yds. or less. Zeak
