jamaldog87,

Buffalo Bore and Garrett's quit carrying those projectiles in calibers  big enough for the Sling Shot on wild boars but they do still carry them for small game I think.  If you find another manufacturer that loads them please let us know.

I have taken a lot of small game and birds in my life with a slingshot and a David sling BUT in no way would I ever tackle a Wild Boar with one.  My wife wonÂ’t let me jeopardize my life insurance policy by doing dumb stunts.  Lawdog

Your buddy's web site is down.

Call me skeptical if you wish, but I'd have to see it done to believe it.

They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

And here I sit with a .35 Rem for hog hunting. jeez..I must be way NON-primitive. Call me crazy, a puss, or whatever. But I hunt hog with as much firepower as I can accurately handle. I plan this year to take a few with a .444 Marlin. I'm just not in the mood to climb trees or get goug marks stitched up.

Why not take a sharp stick with you in case you miss and the hog decides it's open season on 'long pork' ?      How far are you willing to track an irritated hog with a ball in it's gut?

Me neither.  In 1987 while on duty with the sheriffÂ’s department I helped haul out of the woods two hunters that tangled with a medium size Razorback.  They had been told that their .22 centerfires(a .223 Rem. and a .22-250 using 60 gr. Nosler Partitions) would be suitable for taking Wild Boar.  Nothing wrong with bullet placement as all were in the chest area.  That boar messed them up pretty good and if it hadnÂ’t been for their friend and his .270 Win. we might have been carrying out two cadavers instead.     Lawdog

I suspect there are a LOT more stories just like that but you won't get many people to 'fess up to it.

Having been chased up a pine tree by a boar that had just taken a solid chest shot with a heavily loaded .45 Colt, I'll pass on the slingshot. He snorted, pawed the ground for a few minutes and charged the tree a couple times before he had the courtesy to die and let me down. If I hadn't have had a way to get off the ground, I would have been in trouble, and I was alone.

Count me out on the .38 Spl too.

Slingshots.....jeez!

I did say i had a 454 for backup and i kill one small  pig with a slingshot with 44Cal lead ball in the day time and he took one ball and 3 gun shots to put down. SO let it be with slingshot hog hunt OK dam man!

What those sling shot do, is provide the hog with something to roll over and die laughing with.

Hunt a hog with one..... don't think so.

Lets assume the power of a .38 in a slingshot, call me wimpy but I'm not in a big hurry to tangle with a hog with a .38 either.

the .38s velosity starts at around 750fps for a 158gr bullet. theres no way a sling shot is coming close to this speed! i would rather take my chances with a good pellet gun (joking)!

i won't be hunting hogs with a slingshot anytime soon, or a 38 for that matter!

:) Yeah and JAMALDOG87 in another forum actually stated that kids under 12 shouldn't be firing a firearm let alone hunting,  and he wants to take on a very dangerous game animal with a slingshot.
