duxman - can't say I own one, yet. Shot one a few times and really enjoyed it! A friend purchsed a Bullberry barrel, then went and purchased a T/C barrel. I'll tell you the ammo doesn't last long.

I'm also looking at the 17 mach IV. The 17hmr is so popular now, but I'm not convinced it such a great round yet. I guess it depends what your going to use it for. Can't reload the 17hmr and the ammo price seems a bit steep for a rimfire cartridge.

And I really like that one. Nice No recoil and fast!
Good accuracy.

duxman:

I have the 17 Remington, the 17 Mach IV and the 17 HMR barrels for the Contender.

I like shooting them all.

The 17 Mach IV is just a little bit slower than the 17 Remington but they both shoot equally well. I've used the 17 Remington for coyotes and the 17 mach IV for fox.. They both work very well but still want to do some more tayloring of different loads and bullets for each rifle.

The 17 HMR is just a new one. I don't have a scope on it yet but it was fun shooting with iron sights. Absolutely NO RECOIL. Am looking forward to hunting small game with it.
