What gun in Fist full of dollars?
« on: September 16, 2005, 04:55:28 PM »
Anyone know what make single action was used by Clint Eastwood in this movie?
I think it might have been a Hawes Western Marshal. Anyone know for sure?

It was a real 5.5" Colt single action army 45 owned by Clint himself. The silver snake grip inlay was done by the late Andy Anderson who made the gunbelt "The Anderson Walk And Draw Rig". Hope this helps.

Not to be bragging, but I was such a fan of Clint in these westerns, I had to have a rig like that, so when I finally found out who made it for him I contracted with Andy & in 1979, I got  my hot little hands on one. Mine's a morrir image, tho, as I'm left-handed, JD45

Hi Medbill, I was refering to the holster & gunbelt, not the revolver........sorry. I have to say, tho, I WOULD like a set of wood grips with the rattler on them to put on an EMF Hartford SAA I use with the fast-draw rig. Not able to post pics at this time. By the way, I've been to a website that sell copies of Clint's costume from his "spaghetti" westerns...pancho; sheep's wool vest;boots;hat; the whole schmeer....thay want BIG bucks for these components, for sure! Bill, that "Have Gun, Will Travel" rig is magnificent! When I was a kid I, like millions of other kids, was a rabid fan of "Paladin". I have to say, tho, I am aghast at the price of $625.00. In 1979, I contracted with Andy Anderson to make me a mirror-image copy, since I'm left-handed,  of Clint's Walk & Draw rig that he used in his Spaghetti Westerns. A hundred & fourty dollars!!!!!! Still, that Paladin rig is a thing of Beauty!!! JD45
