Has anyone any experiance using the metro, barrel extension system?
Couldn't find anything in a search. Thanks

Is that the super long (maybe 36" to 60") extension that screws into the choke tube threards?

If so, I've never even seen one but don't like the idea. Seems a lot of weight out front and also places a heck of a load on the short threaded portion of your gun's barrel. I'd be concerned about damage to the barrel myself. Just can't see any advantages and lots of possible disadvantages.

Yeah, it's a 30" ported extension that screws into the choke threads, essentially a 30" choke tube.
When used with subsonic ammo, it's supposed to be extremly quiet with very low recoil.
supposed to be used for congested areas during resident goose seasons, and nuisance deer hunting with subsonic slugs.

I've read the articles and testimonials, but was interested in hearing from a real person that has used or seen the system in action., Thanks

It is fact that a longer barrel does to some limited extent reduce the noise level of low velocity rounds. As a fer instance CB caps in a rimfire are much quieter still in a long barrel rifle than in a shorter barrel.

Long ago some of the cheaper shotguns were made with barrels to at least 40" in length that were called goose guns. I've seen and shot one or two and never really noticed any difference in sound with them but we shot only standard velocity ammo in them.

Not sure the 30" of extra length would do a lot but might help some. It might even be light enough to not be obnoxious in barrel weight and shouldn't hurt the parent barrel like the super long ones I've also seen advertised seem to me they would.

But I have no personal experience with them.
