My first coyote
« on: September 17, 2005, 09:19:17 AM »
On friday i was out hunting rats with a air gun and at first i saw some thing that look like a dog that was eating some old fish some had let outside. then i saw it was on dog, it was a coyote. So i ran home to get a better gun. I could not find my 50cal airgun than i had just got so i got my slingshot. Now people tell me a slingshot can't kill a hog but this was no hog. i ran down the road with my sling and he was still there. at 30 yards the first shoot hit home but he was not down at 20 yard my 45 cal round ball did him in. I was really happy to kill a coyote with a slingshot but, everyone saids i am lieing but the  coyote die so i don't care.

Did you say your real name is David?????????? I have a hard enough time killing them with a rifle. O well, I don`t care what you use to kill them, just kill them.

Shooting anything bigger than a rat with a slingshot proves that you're irresponsible. This posts just proves that you don't know anything about spelling or punctuation. Ever heard of SpellCheck?

ever hear of the rules at GBO about attacking a member? play nice, if you don't like what he says then ignore him. i am not trying to be heavy-handed here but its just not worth fighting over and name calling isnt necessary no matter what.

Daddywpb,

I don't think we need to come down on a feller too hard for his post or his spelling, I would hate to think we could become like some of the other sites i have been to in the past. If you hear somthing that you think is not right confront the pearson in a Man like matter and i think you will have more respect from him, I know you will have my respect :D ......Joe.......

Wow! I believe the only "name" that I called him was "irresponsible", and shooting at an animal the size of a coyote with a slingshot is exactly that. It is our responsibility as hunters to take game cleanly and ethically, no matter what the game is and I will stick by that statement. As for the SpellCheck observation, it was supposed to be a joke.

youre right about your observation but its just not a good idea to get started with that, because then he has a comeback and then someone else joins in and eventually this site ends up like others- offline.

i agree with your point of view on the subject but its just not worth fighting over sometimes, thats all.

as for the joke, my apologies. its just very hard sometimes to read something and know your tone and context.

people always are saiding be a good hunter. With slingshot you can kill small game and sometimes bigger game. I have seen people like you shoot a bow at coyotes six or 8 times say they are good hunters. before you put some thing down you need to look at it good with a slingshot the min. for hunting birds is 38 cal and  i shoot 44cal at 600 feet per second at that speed it has the power of a 32 S&W at 11 to 30 yards or a 38 at 20 yards. IF your a man and not a boy you will have a back up gun to kill it if the slingshot does on work.    and all so your spellcheck does not work some time.

I got a 50Cal airgun and did some hunting with it and sling. Some jack with airgun and sling and a coyote with the airgun. I saw one yote come in atter the shot and did't have time to reload so he die by slingshot. Some guy saw all this and say to me "Stop that crap its unfair" i said how come he said "it's irresponsible" I had seen him with his 22 shoot at a duck and yote not kill them but he hit a least 5 times. So i said "Fu white man i saw what you did" He said that was good hunting not bad hunt like me.

Morty?  Is that you??

Just kidding.

Hey, if you can kill 'em with a slingshot kill away.  I have a hard enough time getting them called in close enough to kill with a rifle.

Oh yeah, your analogy of comparing a bow with a slingshot isn't really accurate.  An arrow kills by slicing tissue, and a round ball kills by the energy of the projectile destroying tissue in a different way.

Just thought I'd point that out.  Good luck.

That is what gives hunters bad names by killing animals with underpowered equiptment and making them suffer. If you did kill him without suffering good job and as far as im concerned that was a irresponsible act not saying you are irresponsible.

Sorry i can't get the quote to work properly.
