PP copper-jacketed bullets

Why has no one done more research into paper-patching jacketed bullets?
With all the Hooplah over moly-lubed bullets to relieve fouling, seems some industrious reloader would do some work in this area.
You'd get all the velocity and terminal performance from your favorite premium bullets, and near-nothing to clean at the end of a day of shooting.
Would you need to swage down B4 patching?
Anyone have any real info on effects of accuracy/velocity?

The paper patching of leaed bullets was a 19th century expedient to minimize leading and maintain accuracy in sustained fire.  Thus it gravitated to the competition target shooting crowd and the "buff" hunters.  The military grabbed at it too, but with mixed sucess.  Paper patching was deemed too delicate for the rough handling that poorly trained soldiers expose their ammunition to.

Copper, and eventually, guilding-metal jacketed bullets were developed to meet the needs of higher elocities, hotter propellents, and to eliminate the problems of lead fouling and paper patching.  

There are probably no real benefits to paper patching of modern jacketed bullets.

Well, the thought came from the fact tht fokls will spend extra $$ to have their barrel lapped and bullets lubed, partly to decrease fouling (accuracy and velocity gains notwithstanding) so it seems someone would have tried this so-simple and cheap method, to see.
Looking for someone with any experience with this.
