I am looking for some books on basic animal tracking.  Can anyone recommend some authors and titles?  Thanks.

A Field Guide to Mammal Tracking in North America; James Halfpenny; Johnson Books, Boulder; 1986

Peterson Field Guides, Animal Tracks; Olaus J. Murie

Here are a few I used when I was Scoutmastering.

Hope this helps some.

There's a guy named Tom Brown who published a few books on tracking and wilderness survival. Some people think he is a genius, others think he paid a ghostwriter to write his book. He runs a wilderness survival school now, and some folks claim he is a fraud. I guess you would have to read some of his books and develop an opinion for yourself. His wilderness survival handbook seemed to have some good advice for tracking in it.
