Last year I got (4) deer with the SW 500 cal,(2)-TC Encore ,(2)-SW 500 8 3/8" bll.
I will probably use a TC Encore Reeder 375GNR #2,w/ Barnes 210 X at 2500 fps this setup shoots tiny groups.

S.B. as of late my job prohibits me from conducting any classes, but I do get to take out interested people on occasion.

Last weekend I got to have the joy of helping a troubled 14 year old girl
learn how to shoot a centerfire rifle.I had loaded some cast bullets with a light load of H4227 for my wife to shoot, but her joints have deteriorated so badly that she can no longer shoot.

The girl had a ball. I took some targets that would react without any question when hit, and let her shoot until her mother decided it was time to go.

Now she wants to go hunting with me this fall.

Another one into the fold.....

Have used a T/C Encore in 7mm-08 for several years but usually also carry S&W .44 Special with 255 gr. "Keith" loads for any good shot under 25 yards.  Have been successful with a .357 mag several years ago but consider this as a marginal caliber in a handgun and only to be used under ideal conditions.

is covered by my trusty 10mm. I have an excellent Taurus M44 6.5" in which I have total confidence. My upgrade will be a S&W 500 but I also intend to switch to a 5" (+or-) for the .44 duties. Also don't overlook the .44 spl--underrated and very accurate!

This will be my first season with a handgun-- Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter in 45Colt topped with a Leupold 2x scope.  Hard cast 255swc with 9.2 grains of Unique under it.  Ya, it is a powderpuff load, but she's accurate and should be able to punch through the shoulders of a whitetail at hunting ranges.

I scored on a doe with my .41 mag Redhawk already this year. I am now carrying a T/C Contender 14" 7-30 Waters. If I get lucky with the Contender I will probably try with a S&W 29 .44 Mag.

Handgun hunting is a blast. :-D

I've never hunter deer with a revolver, I use a 10" TC Contender in 357 Max.
If I were to use a revolver it would be the only one I own, a S&W 624 6 1/2"  barrel in 44 Special, loaded with a Kieth 250 gr cast SWC doing 1000 fps.  Or perhaps a 200 gr Nosler JHP load that I'm working on.

44 mag in the Redhawk.   Awhile back some one was wanting to compare the 44 mag to a 50 BP to a 410 slug.  the velocities are about the same for all three however, only the 44 and 50 BP have about the same bullet weights.  The 410 slug is 1/5 ounce - 87.5 grains!  Draw your own conclusions......

I use an Aimpoint-mounted Smith 624 (sold my .44 magnums, too much of a good thing!)

My handload is the Keith 250 gn swc, hardcast over 13.2 gns of 2400, alox lube. Velocity runs 1050 fps and will put 10 shots into 1.5" off sandbags at 25 yds. Might not sound very powerful but it shoots through washing machines at 75 yds with that hard-cast Keith bullet. I've only recovered one bullet from game.

This gun/load has accounted for 21 whitetails, three javelina and two hogs over the years.

HH to all!

I prefer a Super BlackHawk 44mag. 10 1/2 in. barrel.  Until I see a Ruger Bisley in .480 Ruger with a 10in. barrel it's my Fav.

I used to carry a SBH .44, but now use a .480 Ruger SRH with a 7-1/2" barrel and a 2X Burris scope.
