I am looking to purchase a TC Encore from my local gun store with the 209/50 and the new thumbhole stock. The problem is that I hear alot of you talking about building one from the ground up, and truthfully that is more my style but I cannot locate a frame without going through all of the hassle of shipping through a FFL. Where and how does one go through the process of getting all of the required componets of this massive machine... Also, if I want to get a barrell for coyote hunting, do I need to purchase a different forearm than the one I need to buy for the 209/50? I noticed that Ebay has a beautiful Rose wood stock and forearm. Oh also where would you recommend getting the 209/50 barrell from, or should I just spen the $684.00 that my local gun shop is asking and start from there? Oh, one more thing... What is you opinion on the Burris Landmark 3x9x40 scopes? Thanks alot everyone...

You will need a different forend for a rifle barrel than for the BP barrel. Generally speaking, the rifle barrel forend will transfer between barrels unless you step up to a heavy barrel or a custom barrel.

Lots of choices, you can go with a custom stock, a sythetic or the TC Encore factory stock. All good choices and personal preference.

The only way you are going to get an Encore frame without going through a FFL is through a personal sale form someone in your State. I would just go to your local shop and got one already built. You won't be disappointed.

If you get an encore or contender get it as a handgun if you can, by doing it this way you have the most flexibility with it. if it was bought as a rifle it must always be a rifle but if it was bought as a handgun it can be made into a rifle with no worries about BATF stopping by to saying hi to you.

If you get it in a popular caliber you should have little trouble getting rid of that barrel then use the money or trade it for your muzzle loading barrel you want or a stock set

Very nice looking stock, I would prefer it is a gray color though. I have the thumbhole stock that I got with my 50 cal muzzleloader I bought.

I was in the same boat. I ended up buying a stainless receiver and waited to see what I really wanted for a barrel. I ended up with a 7 mm rem mag and a 204. I also bought the stock set throught gunstocks.inc. I have a nice rifle setup yhat is just the way I wanted it to be. Yes you can go and buy right now but you'll end up spending more ( I think) just buying and than changing the rifle so you will like it.
This is my opinion, I could be wrong.
