Tell me what you think about it.Other than recoil.Call me sick but, I like guns that let me know when they go BOOM :twisted: .How accurate are they? :roll:

I hope they're good, I got my barrel coming on Monday.  300 gr. slug at 2000 fps from that 12" barrel will bite on both ends, I'll start with reduced 250 gr. loads to get used to it, maybe I won't need much more than that...

As an owner of a .454 Casull Encore, all I can say is, if like Selmer, you plan on lauching 300gr. bullets at 2000 fps,  you should be deliriously happy when "they go off".  As a little pre shot training before a range session with this load, I might reccommend for  each of two or three days prior, go to the basement and place your right thumb on an anvil or other suitable object.  Whack it smartly with a hammer.  Then do it to  the other thumb.  When you actually start to shoot, the sensation will be somewhat familar and you will be able to concentrate on your technique.  Have "fun". :)

Great post reddot - still chuckling.....  :)

I also had a 12" 454 Encore when they first came out.   Shot mostly full-house Freedom Arms 260 gr. loads in mine (case stuffed full of H-110 - *standard reloading warnings guys), and some "pushed" 300 gr. loads as well.   Have been shooting handcannons since my first JDJ was bought nearly 30 years ago, still have a half dozen of them and still love shooting them.   What I noticed most about the Encore 454 was the torque rather than the recoil.   It really likes to spin out of your hand, so get a "controlled" grip on it.   A buddy who shoots 338#2 and 375JDJ's managed 2 shots before he gave up with bleeding knuckles (he wears shooting gloves and didn't have them, I don't use them so didn't have any).    I faired better with it, even shot it IHMSA Big Bore a few times (mainly to rattle some buddies) and did several 100 round paper-punching bouts with it before it went to live with someone else (still preferred my JDJ's and Super Bowers on the Contender frames).   It was a fun toy for a while, but not in the same league as the others for precision.

I've had a 12" one for about six months now and I'm just starting to get the hang of it. You'll need to be inventive to find a good way to hold on and not hurt your hands. Padded gloves help. I tried some 300g Sierra bullets loaded hot and found that after I got it sighted in at 50yards it was dead on at 100 yards too. Mines a keeper. :D
