Glueing Decoys
« on: September 25, 2005, 03:46:55 PM »
Hi Everyone.
I'm not new to the graybeard forum this is just my first time in water fowl board. I usually hang out in the trapping board.
Anyway I have this problem.
I have a dozen drake pintail decoys I picked up recently. They are the plastic flambeau type and all are new but unpainted. The thing is I was thinking of cutting down the tails on half of them and making them hens. Don't think 12 drakes would look right even mixed with mallards.
Anyone ever cut and glue any of that injected plastic? if so what did you glue it with?  I was thinking I might be better off to heat is with a soldering gun and melt it together.

Just paint 'em and you'll be fine. Like Pintaildrake said, you will be shootin' them before they realize they are drake dekes.
