I'm thinking of buying a 673 in .308 Winchester.  Have any of you shot one of these rifles in any caliber?  How did it shoot?  Any functionality problems like feeding, ejecting, etc.?

It should work perfectly.  It is a remington model 7, actually.  The 6 (in the 673) refers to the model 600 made in the 60's (it had a vent rib), the 7 is for the model 7, the 3 for 2003 (year introduced)
I've handled one and it seemed really heavy to me.  You might look at the model 7LS, unless you HAVE to have the vent rib.  compare the two rifle on Remington's website, www.remington.com
The 7LS has a 20 in barrel, instead of a 22 in, but the deer don't measure your barrel when they get shot.  They'll never know!
And the 308 is an EXCELLENT cartridge, you would not be dissapointed.

Have a 673 in the 300saum. with 150 gr, corelokt ultras, will shoot one raged hole at 100 yrds. I like the rifle  ,so does my son. He took it over last year. I removed the rear sights to better fit for scope.
Dancoman says GO 4 it. You won't be dissapointed.

I know a guy who has a 660 in 6.5mm Mag and loves it.  While the 673 comes in a 22" Barrel which is 2 inches longer than the 660 did, and if you pick the right caliber you may own a future collectible because the Laminated 660's in 6.5mm Mag and .350 Mag are much sought after.  I think the 673 is the only rifle Remington makes in 6.5mm Mag, which can be hard to get shells for at a reasonable price, even if you load your own.  Shells and Casings for the 6.5 are not impossible to get but they can be pricey.

The .308 should be a good, less expensive shooter in the 673 but it is the oddball calibers that get the attention in the 600's and 660's.   When I was considering a 673 the .308 is the one I would have bought.  Now I tend to like the Model 7 LS more than the 673.  Mainly because I don't see much use for the Vented Rib.  But then again, that Rib is what may make it a collectible........ who knows.
