I would not shoot my bow with out sights. I like to know where my arrows goes. I have a 20,30 and 40 yard pin. I know where my arrow will be all the way to 40 yards. I do not take shots past 40 yards although I do practice at 50 yards.  :D  But if it works for you, good luck.

a friend of mine uses no sights.  he also uses fingers with his compound.  not such a bad deal using fingers on his bow as it is old and very long axel to axel so he gets no pinch.

he hits 7" groups at 40 yards with that set up.  he wont switch to sights...i hit 3 1/2" groups at that distance and out to 50.  i wont shoot out to 50 though.  a 7" group at 40 i think is not adequate in my opinion as i have had to help him search for badly shot deer.  the last one i helped him with i told him....this is the last one i help you with unless you switch to a more effective method.  we found that doe and it was hit a bit far back...but no biggie...problem was he hit the doe five yards past the buck he was shooting at.

different strokes for different folks.

when i was a kid, i shot my bow without sights because i couldnt afford them.  i did very well.

i went through the compound stage, and the sight set ups are very effective.

now i shoot instintive, and do very well.

whatever floats your boat.

hope nobody takes my meaning wrong in my post above.  i think if a person needs sights to effectively kill cleanly with one shot....then they better use sights.  they owe that to the animal.  but if they can accomplish it without.....cool.

i was just giving an example of a hard headed individual that should be shooting with sights but irresponsibly shoots without.

 I never had sights on my long bows.  I don't use them anymore, but in my younger days I could hang with the big boys and their compound bows as far as accuracy was concerned.

I now use sights on my compound, I also have a 20, 30 and 40 yard pin.  I use a range finder and flags to mark off a site when possible, I use three different colors of surveyors tape, one for maximum 40, one for max 30, and one for max 20.  It helps in judging distance especially under low light conditions.

i can shoot arrows ontop of each other at 25 yds no sights. but i was afraid buck fever might screw up my mind. so i'll be in the wood w/ sights!!!
I've got to many but never enough!!!!
