New Barrel-.223 Remington or .223.Remington Ackley Improved?
« on: February 28, 2003, 12:52:52 PM »
I am trying to decide on a barrel for my new contender frame. Either way it will be a 21" bull T/C Custom shop barrel. I am already set up to reload .223 Remington, but I have been reading about the Ackley Improved and it sounds interesting. Can I use the my .223 neck sizer and bullet seating dies or would I need new ones? Can brass be bought or does it have to be fire formed? Is the Ackley a big improvment or should I just stick with the old .223?

Decisions, decisions decisions,

Scott.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

How can you fault the 223? Many loads, stock dies, lots of cheap brass, cheap ammo, over 3000fps! I know which way I went.
Good luck on your choice. I too, love to agaonize over another barrel!!!
The first shot is the best shot, it may be your only shot!  Do it with a single-shot.
