18" 12ga Barrel on Ebay??
« on: September 29, 2005, 11:45:15 PM »
I have never heard of H&R/NEF having a factory 18" barrel and there is no bead visible in the pic that is posted with it.  BUYER BE WARE !  Even at the "Buy it now" price it is a deal if the machine work on the barrel was a quality job.  Am I wrong?  Did they offer a 18" barrel some time before?

They have never offered a 18in. barrel to my knowledge. IMHO $70 is way too high. You can buy a whole used shotgun for around $80. Then you can cut the barrel off yourself. Just way to much i think.

Even if it is a quality job it isn't worth it...You would have to fit it yourself or have a smith look at it and that would nullify any savings you see.  Plus, what is the shipping on that puppy?  You would be better off doing what Varminter said and purchase a used beater shotgun for $80 and take a hacksaw to it...Well, maybe not a hacksaw but you get the idea.

All of the survivor 12ga and 20ga models that I've seen or heard about ha 22"mod barrels. My guess is that this has been chopped. The price plus shipping would be way to high IMO

If it turned out to be even 1/1000" short of 18" you'd be in deep doo doo with BATFE if they ever caught you. Same with local law enforcement.
