Brn Gold 10 vs SP-10
« on: October 01, 2005, 04:59:32 PM »
Have a sp-10 that givin me a buch of trouble. I have allways liked the rem shotguns and have allways had good luck with them. I know that the sp-10 is not a rem design.

Anyway, I am faced with the decision of getting aother sp-10 to replace the one I have or the gun store owner said he would get a brn gold 10. whichever one I wanted. I like the sp-10, but an concerned after having this much trouble. This gun has been back to rem twice for cycling problems. The only concern I have about the brn is the lightweight alum. reciever. Will they hold up to the 10ga punishment?
Ican  1- get new sp-10
2- get new brn. gold light 10
3- get store credit for whatever I want up to what I payed for the original sp-10.

Any comments or suggestion would be helpful. exspecially to those who own one of them.

I have a Rem Sp 10ga and i was up in Missouri for spring season yr before last. I met a guy up there he was from Ark too. He was shooting a new  Browning Gold 10ga . He had tradeed his BPS 10ga in on it the Gold was new well it was 2 weeks old.  The day before season it was. He wanted to show me how it pattern . On the first shot the  the gun broke something inside of it.  He didnt get to hunt the first day his friend had a Rem SP10 ga. His friend killed turkey that mor. So he had to borrow his friend 's 10ga to hunt the next day. He was mad said he wish he would have kelp his BPS . See you can alway get a bad one. My Rem i have Never had any thing to go wrong with it. On it's end on my end i have miss a few turkeys because i get them get to close. And shooting to tight of a custom choke lol. VM :-D

If I could afford to get any 10ga I wanted, it would be a Browning Gold. I like the SP-10 as well, but the Browning fits me a tad better, and I have had less trouble with them. I would say that the one that fits you best is the one to get, as I don't think one is that much better than the other. I currently shoot a 10ga BPS, but want to get a Gold 10 soon.
