Muskies: Trophy time is here!!
« on: October 02, 2005, 09:57:29 AM »
It's about time to start soaking suckers for muskies. I wanna get some time is this fall, as I have been rather lazy this summer in hunting them.

Hopefully a trip to Vilas county. I always try to put some time in on Trout lake, but she is a tough nut to crack, with all the cisco forage. Quick strike rigs and probably some circle hook rigging will see time. The biggest and darkest colored 12 to 18 inch suckers should produce somewhere.

Who else?

Yea me too Hunting that is I have not been fishing muskies for years. Got this one when I was about 16. and that is a long time ago.   48.5 inches long 28.5 pounds. She should have went 35 but was spawned out. Brookie next to it is a 12 incher not huge as I have usually catch several a year but it is hard to get them bigger where I fish. Best one so far was a 13 incher. That goose tail fan you see I mounted as I shot the goose with my bow.   The small racks are a 5 point shot last year with my Encore 308 pistol using a cast load and the 3 point was a bow kill. All my other racks got sold at a auction by mistake when I was younger including the first buck I shot a really nice 10 point.   Got a 3 pound rainbow mounted on the other wall that came out of a inland water. not huge but a nice mount. The circle is a group of partridge fans I did just for  giggles. It looks kinda interesting.   I wish I would have kept some of the other smaller racks I have shot and not lost the ones I did when I was younger. Be nice to have now. I had had my antlers stored in the garage up above the rafters which included the 10 point which was a nice rack and a nice fork which was my first bow kill. My mom had a auction after my dad died and she sent me downtown to get some food during the auction. When I got back I seen my waders going down the road I found out then the damn auctioneer had found my hidden stash while I was gone and sold it all. Mostly the boots and antlers were sold most of my other stuff I had in the house. I learned then if you want it better hang on to it or it will be gone.  :x

Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Oh by the way the hat that  Tiger muskie is wearing is a Packer hat!  :D The Record is a song my brother wrote for Dave Dudley.   Musky mount getting pretty beat up is has been a lot of places since about 1969 when I finally got it back from the taxidermist. The first one had it for over a year finally had to get the skin from him and give it to a other guy.
