Seeing plenty of deer
« on: October 02, 2005, 04:37:29 PM »
 Opening day was yesterday, but I didn't have the opportunity to get out until this afternoon.  I climbed up into my tree stand about 2 pm, about 6:30 I saw my first deer.  Shortly afterwards about 12-14 walked down the creek below my blind.......all does and fawns.  It was just getting so dark that I was having trouble seeing in the shadows when I noticed a buck hanging close to a tree line and moving in the same direction the doe were.  I couldn't see well enough to determine how big it was.

It is still too hot, in my opinion, and the skeeters almost ate me alive.  They were so bad I thought I would have to stop by the emergency room for a transfusion, and the size of them puppys was unbelievable.

Maybe next Saturday I can hunt early and and the weather will cool a bit.  Boy, what I wouldn't give for 40-50 degree weather.

Too many in my area. Does and fawns are so thick it is hard to still hunt. They just keep coming in from all sides.
Just another worthless opinion!!
